“I read through your business case for paperless operations and it is hard for me to understand having a paper operation.
Funny. It is difficult for me to wrap my head around how they navigate and track their drivers. Since inception, we have had our guys tracked somehow. And with a tablet, they simply follow the route on the screen, with all the information and simple navigation directions via a couple steps. Then simply follow “siri” or the “blue” trail on the map. We have mounted the tablet on an Arkon heavy duty tablet mount so the driver does not have mess around trying to view it. It sits generally in the center of the truck at the high point of the dash level. A simple look down and right and they can stay on track.
And without knowing where they are or what service stops they have completed, tremendous lost efficiency. We add P and Ds all the time depending on where the guys are at. This is huge when you get paid for those deliveries but generally not directly for the pickups.
I believe the cost and efficiency savings are huge. The challenge will be the technical aspect of converting to a paperless operation. Some office staff members can resist technology and be afraid of it. “
