Clear Computing and StreetEagle Send Route Updates to Garmin in Vehicle

January 28, 2008

Tinton Falls, NJ - Drivers using a Garmin for visual and verbal driving directions can now

get immediate updates to their routes while on the road,  using the latest technology from

Clear Computing and Insight-USA

Updates of the day’s work are sent to the Garmin device in your

company vehicle equipped with StreetEagle GPS, from the office

computer running Clear Computing’s Total Activity Control (TAC)

operations management system. With this technology, businesses can

respond quickly to route changes, which are opportunities for increased

revenue per driver and reduced road and driver costs.

Fixed Service Routes

Drivers can be anywhere at start of day to receive their fixed service routes in their Garmin device.

The driver then gets visual and verbal driving instructions for the route (multiple languages supported).

Combine this with an emailed copy of the service route, supported in TAC, and your service trucks

can start the day from any location with all the information they need.

Work Order Dispatching

For companies using work orders, the TAC system will send the work order list or the next work order

to the vehicle, and the Garmin device will take the driver from the current location to the service location(s)

in the order you specify. No phone calls, no time lost writing down instructions, and the directions are

optimized to minimize driving time and distance.   If written forms are needed for customer signature and

driver notation, TAC will email full color PDFs to the driver who can print locally.

Quick Response to Route Changes

Route updates due to additions or changes to a driver’s work for the day are optimized and sent to the

driver’s Garmin

“This is a real productivity enhancement for service industries,” said Joel Smith, Clear Computing’s Chief

Technology Officer.“This is made possible due to our seamless integration with other products, which

reduces clerical effort, improves communication, and boosts productivity.  If you can save 15 minutes a day

for one driver, the system pays for itself 3 times over.  This is another feature that supports our company

mission: Your Company, Your Way, Anytime, Anywhere.”
