Search for a Site

The site is actually the service location where service is delivered. Sometimes a customer has more than one site, so each site has its own set of information kept on a Site Master. When you search for a site, you will be looking for a match with some information you have that is located on a Site Master.

1)      The form where you search for a site is located on the Search tab of the Site Master. (From the Main Menu, you open this form by selecting Site/Customer > Site Master > Sites.)

2)      All the fields you can search have a background color. This is true for all the search fields in the system.

3)      Type what you wish in any of these search fields. Then, click on the Search button located half-way down on the form.

4)      A list of all sites that match your search criteria will appear in a grid near the bottom of the search form. You can scroll through the grid and locate the site that you are interested in.

5)      To select the site, move your mouse so that you are pointing at the site. To view details about the site, just double-click, and the site information will appear in the Site Master.

6)      Most of the time, the work you do will be in the Site Master, so this is a great way to find your sites. You can also search for sites, as well as customers, invoices, payments, etc., by using the many searches available on the Main Menu, under the Help Menu.

Additional Notes

Site search is a powerful tool to quickly and accurately locate a specific site’s customer when they call. The idea is to enter a minimum of information that will locate a site, and use the power of a click on the grid column to arrange the results so you can select the correct entry to bring up.

Some uses are to enter the last four digits of a phone number, or the first three letter of the name, and click the Search button. This will populate the search grid, and you can then click on any column, such as Name or Address to sort the column so you can   visually select the correct record as quickly as possible.

There is another Site Search that opens when the F7 key is pressed has over 20 separate fields to aid in locating your customers when they call.
