The TAC integration with Insight fully supports:
1. Electronic population of locations
2. Full vehicle history from customer site location (when your truck was at the customer's site)
3. Planned vs. actual mapping of work orders and service routes (using TAC mapping tools)
Updating Vehicle History
The system uses the internet to access the Insight location that stores the collected data. This is then downloaded to a local set of files on your PC, for all stations to access.
Two types of information are imported.
Vehicle real time data that updates the last known information on each vehicle.
Vehicle history transactions of all vehicles reporting for the selected date range.
To activate these imports, bring up the vehicle tracking screen from a site or dispatch right-click action menu.
The Main Menu selection, Dispatch / Vehicle Management / AVL brings up the vehicle tracking form. Right click on the grid on the Vehicle History Tab and you are given several action menu options.
Update Vehicle List downloads the entire vehicle fleet being tracked by InSight, and updates the vehicle locator and Vehicle Locator Report for the last locations.
Update Vehicle History uses the schedule date range on the form to bring in the latest transactions so this history is up-to-date. Of course, you can expand the schedule date range to include any days you have skipped.
