Document Image Management

 

The TAC system includes a comprehensive built-in document management system. It currently supports the following locations where you can link a scanned document.

 

  1. Site notes
  2. Customer notes
  3. Work order
  4. Site equipment entries
  5. Material master file.

 

 

Currently only “BMP” formats are supported. To use this feature, follow these steps.

 

  1. Scan your documents into the directory Images under the data directory. Make sure each document has a unique name, less then 125 characters long, including the four characters that make up the “.bmp” extension.
  2. Go to any of the five locations listed above, and when in edit mode (form has yellow boxes), you can click on the magnifier icon next to the image file name field, and a “browse” window will open.
  3. Double-click on your document name and then close it. The document name will now be in the image file field box.
  4. Click Save and the image is now linked with the record you have chosen.

 

An alternative to steps 3 and 4 is to type the document pathname into the field and clicks Save.
